Pre-Owned James Kerr & Co 12g Side Lock, Non-Ejector Side by Side Damascus Barrelled.
A rare Pre-Owned Side by Side, this James Kerr & Co sidelock has the address of 118 Queen Victoria Street on the rib which gives the date of production or sale to between 1883 -1887. Because James Kerr & Co. operated primarily as gunmakers, armourers to the National Rifle Association, and sole UK agents for Winchester during this era, their side-by-side shotguns were generally high-quality "trade guns" made in collaboration with top Birmingham or London action makers. This particular model has scroll engraving and the gun cocks with the top lever. Proofed for 2 1/2" nitro cartridges, the Damascus twist barrels are in a good condition on the outside and in the bores.
