BSA Airsporter Mk 2 Plastic Piston Head Conversion.
Original BSA design which replaced the leather washer assembly with this plastic cone which allows an o ring to be fitted.
In our opinion this design is not as good as the original leather washers as it is not as forgiving as leather. It was a retro fit design and was never fitted to the Mk 1 or Mk 2 at the factory during production. They were only fitted much later when rifles came in for repair as BSA did not have access to leather washers.
